Being in the metal building and construction industry my entire life, I decided to take a more practical method of construction, steel! Steel offers many benefits, it leaves a smaller thermal break in the walls, meaning better insulation values, it never warps, is insect resistant, and steel can't burn. Steel contracts and expands, which is true will building materials, steel has a lower contraction and expansion rate than, say, concrete, or wood. The steel studs were then wrapped with 3/8" OSB, then a layer of house wrap, the final and most important layer, is the 5/8" thick Densglass, a product made by GA Pacific, an exterior drywall with fiberglass impregnated in the gypsum and the outer facings. Densglass offers these remarkable advantages over other lesser products used in home construction, like meeting the Miami/Dade building requirements for hurricanes, having the ability to arrest a 2 X 4 shot at 0ver 90 Mph! Densglass is an excellent sound barrier, so you don't hear every noise outside, now the best part, it offers a 1-hour fire rating, try that with wood and stucco! Speaking of stucco, the exterior is coated with a product called STO, a synthetic stucco with the color mixed in, yes, it can be painted easily over should you want to change the color. We spared no expense in building this home, with quality engineered Cherry and Hickory wood flooring, not the cheaper big box flooring. The kitchen counter tops are Cherry Butcher block, that's the reason there is some color variations from each piece. Almost forgot, the well is on a constant pressure controller, meaning you'll enjoy city water pressure in the country, and no messy pressure tanks to replace. Now let's talk about a master bedroom!
